A few months ago Hanna started asking to get her ears pierced. I was reluctant at first and thought she would forget about it. The asking turned to begging and the begging turned to INSISTENCE. We talked for a long time about what it would mean to have her ears pierced and finally and still a little reluctantly, I agreed.
All week she’s been telling anyone who will listen how she’s going to get her ears pierced and it’s going to hurt but “That’s okay, right? It’s just for a minute and I’m brave.”
Syx used to own a piercing shop in Windsor in his youth so it only made sense for him to help out, and honestly – this man caught both his babies and cut their cords. I didn’t REALLY expect him to sit back and watch someone else pierce his daughter’s ears.
This girl was a champ. Only tears for a minute and then the proudest smile, and almost shy smile I’ve ever seen from her. So many thanks to my long time friend Harley for ordering up the sweetest rainbow captive bead rings I’ve ever seen and for coming over to help us.
She’s growing up.
